Consecutive interpreters typically listen to a speaker who will stop
talking after a sentence, and wait while the interpreter renders the
spoken translation. This method is more appropriate for smaller meetings,
especially those where interactive discussion is a part of the procedure.
Simultaneous interpreters provided by IBT ensure your conference will be
successfully interpreted. IBT interpreters are U.S. State Department
approved and possess the education, training, and field experience to
interpret only seconds behind the speaker. Simultaneous interpreters and the
UN-type equipment, such as transmitters, receivers and soundproof booths,
which prevent the interpretation from disrupting the speaker and listeners,
best serve large group meetings with lengthy speaking programs.
Consecutive interpreters and simultaneous interpreters may use
portable equipment for
small group meetings or tours.
If your interpreting needs do not require a face-to-face meeting, consider
telephone interpretation via a 3-way conference call. Telephone interpreting
is currently provided to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and
several area hospitals.
IBT’s professional interpreters can be found interpreting throughout the
world in courtrooms and hospitals, as well as in industries
and businesses.

INTERPRETATION EQUIPMENT
The interpreting equipment that may best serve your conference and meeting
needs depends on your meeting facility size and location(s), number of
participants and agenda.
Consecutive and simultaneous interpreters in small meeting venues may use
portable equipment.
Both portable and floor wireless equipment require outfitting your
attendees with receivers and ear buds for clear reception.
Our equipment can serve up to 1000 participants in your simultaneously
interpreted conference. Simultaneous interpretation requires the use of
soundproof booths, transmitters and receivers.
Our booths house IBT simultaneous interpreters or your own, while an IBT
technician monitors the equipment throughout the conference.
IBT’s professional technicians and equipment have successfully served the
State of Indiana and Eli Lilly Company.
