FAQs
Why can’t you give me quote
for my translation request without seeing the document?
IBT’s translation process requires a team, which includes at the least, a
linguist with expertise in the subject matter of the text, a grammarian or
editor, and a proofreader. The team reviews the text to determine the
technical nature of the text, the length of time that the text will require
to complete, the man hours required of the office staff and then adds time
for desktop publishing and
certification, as required. None of these tasks can be
accurately addressed without seeing the actual document.
Why can’t my translation be done immediately?
IBT typically requires 7-10 working days to complete a
translation at a
regular charge without rush fees adding to the cost. Many times the work may
be completed earlier than the 7-10 working days quoted, and when that occurs
your translation is delivered to you upon completion. If you have a more
urgent need, please let us know. A member of the IBT staff will discuss your
options with you, as IBT will make every effort to accommodate your
deadline.
What’s the easiest way to learn a foreign language?
Unfortunately, there is no magic pill or potion or specific cassette tape or
video that will make you an overnight foreign language speaker. Twenty (20)
hours of instruction in our language classes will enable you to speak and
understand some basics of the language.
How long will it take for me to be a fluent speaker if I take your
classes?
This depends to a great extent on your willingness to devote study time
outside the class—whether
private, semi-private or
group—as well as your
ability to learn, assimilate and absorb the language skills taught. On the
average, a student may expect 60 hours of instruction in our
language
classes along with similar hours outside the classroom to achieve a higher
level of speaking and comprehension—not fluent, but advanced.
How do I schedule a speaker from IBT to address my group?

endeavors, our staff enjoys talking to you about
translation,
interpretation, businesses in Indiana, women in business, and foreign
language educational issues.
